First Person Plural Pronouns

Teochew has two first person plural pronouns (“we/us”): nang2 俺 and uang2 阮

nang2 俺 is inclusive, meaning that it includes the listener:

nang2-gai5 a1bê6 俺個 阿父 “our father” 👴 👉🏽 both the listener and speaker have the same father.

uang2 阮 is exclusive, meaning that it excludes the listener:

uang2-gai5 a1bê6 恁個 阿父 “our father” 👴 👉🏽 the speaker’s father is not the same as the listener’s father.

🗣uang2 is also pronounced ung2 or ng2.

🀄️Some dialects of Mandarin make the same distinction: zánmén 咱们 (inclusive) vs. wǒmén 我们 (exclusive).

潮州话 有 两种 第一人称 复数 代名词（“我们”）：

nang2 「俺」 和 uang2 「阮」。

nang2「俺」 是 包括 听话者 的：

nang2-gai5 a1bê6 「俺個 阿父」 ”我们 的 父亲“ 👴 👉🏽说话者 和 听话者 的 父亲 是 同 一个 人。

uang2「阮」 是 不包括 听话者 的：

uang2-gai5 a1bê6 「恁個 阿父」 “我们 的 父亲” 👴 👉🏽说话者 的 父亲 不是 听话者 的 父亲。

🗣uang2 也 读作 ung2 或 ng2。

🀄️有的 华语 方言 也 区分 “咱们” （包括 听者） 和 “我们” （不包括 听者）。
